Frequently asked questions
Check out what our most frequently asked questions are at Flying High Aerial Arts Studios. You may be suprised by the answers!
I have never tried pole dancing before where should I start?
A: If you’re new to pole dancing and feeling a bit nervous about attending your first class, rest assured that you’re not alone. Many beginners feel uncertain about what to expect and might believe they lack the strength required. But guess what? We’ve all been there, starting from scratch. Whether you haven’t exercised in years, carry some extra weight, or feel you’re on the mature side, pole dancing welcomes everyone – regardless of age, size, or fitness level.
Our dedicated instructors are known for their warm and inviting nature. Once you step into our studio, any pre-class jitters will quickly fade away, making room for an enjoyable experience. To kick off your pole dancing journey, we recommend giving our Pole Trial for Newbies a shot. This single class session offers you the perfect opportunity to dip your toes into pole dancing and discover if it’s the right fit for you. Don’t let any doubts hold you back; we’re here to help you unleash your potential and have a fantastic time!
What to Wear for Classes:
For all fitness classes like ABT, Splits, and Cardio, we suggest wearing regular gym attire. Sneakers are optional.
However, for Pole Classes and Courses, we recommend wearing shorts, preferably on the shorter side. The skin’s grip is essential for pole dancing, so the more skin exposed, the better. While our instructors teach these classes barefoot, you’re welcome to flaunt those sparkling shoes if you love them.
Class Size:
At Flying High, we pride ourselves on offering small, personalized classes to ensure you have the best experience. Our intimate class sizes allow our instructors to provide individual attention to each student, enabling them to identify any areas that need improvement. This approach guarantees you won’t feel unnoticed or unheard during our sessions.
- Fitness classes have a maximum of 8 participants per class.
- Pole courses accommodate a maximum of 9 participants per class.
Transitioning from Another Studio:
If you’ve trained at a different studio, determining the appropriate level to start with can be a common concern. We offer assessments for students with prior experience elsewhere. For a nominal fee of $10, which takes approximately 10 minutes, one of our instructors will evaluate your strength and skill level, helping us place you in the right class. Keep in mind that different studios have varying levels, so it’s possible you might be placed in a level lower than expected.
Late Arrival and Warm-Up:
Your safety is our priority. If you arrive after the warm-up has concluded, you won’t be able to join the class. We kindly request that you aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled class time to ensure you can participate.
Class Cancellation Policy:
We adhere to an 8-hour cancellation policy to ensure smooth class management and accommodate all our students.
- Class Passes/Individual Classes: If you cancel your class before the 8-hour window, the class will be credited back to your account, allowing you to reschedule. Failing to cancel within 8 hours will result in the loss of the booked class.
- Memberships: Not canceling your class 8 hours in advance will incur a $5 late cancellation fee, payable before your next visit.
